Insurance companies have a name for such tragedies; they call them “Acts of God.” And they are right, of course; God Himself says that He “hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm” (Nahum 1:3) and that He can and does make the earth tremble (Isaiah 24:19−20; 64:3). Some Christians have the idea that when things happen that they like, that is a blessing from God; but when things happen that they do not like, that is the Devil opposing them.
